Thursday Thirteen, because it’s been a while
Filed Under Future, Thursday Thirteen | 4 Comments
I haven’t done this meme in a long time. And after my negative post last night (which I am glad I password protected) I think I need to write something positive. Here are some things I am looking forward to:
1. Meeting my friend Cara for lunch at this great Mexican restaurant
2. Delivering my Avon orders and getting some cash!
3. Seeing my friend Faith tomorrow- shopping and eating at Chevy’s
4. Going out to breakfast with Jonathon tomorrow (he’s off work) and then maybe going to Grant’s Farm or the Magic House or something with both him and Bailey.
5. Picking up my stuff that I left for custom picture framing and hopefully having our bedroom more “decorated” looking.
6. Nothing at all planned for Sunday- relaxing, hopefully!
7. Getting our carpet cleaned next Tuesday. It really needs it. I had it scheduled for this week, but someone (ahem, Jonathon) didn’t get the downstairs cleaned.
8. In two weeks, I am taking my mom to a Stampin Up card making class for her birthday.
9. In September, we are going to Disney World!!! I have been reading these boards obsessively lately.
10. I also turn 28 in September. Not that I am excited about getting another year older, but I love celebrating my birthday. I hope I still love celebrating it when I am even older.
11. For lack of anything else in the reasonably near future… I am looking forward to Halloween! We already have Bailey’s costume, but I’m not going to tell you what she’s dressing up as. It’s cute, and surprisingly, it’s not super-girly. Just for fun, here’s a pic from last year when she was Tinkerbell.

12. I am signing Bailey up for a few Parents as Teachers classes this fall. One of them is an eight week motor skills type class. We are also doing some singing and another gym class. (If you aren’t enrolled in PAT and you have a child under three, call your school district. It’s a great program. If you are in Missouri, I guarantee they have it because they get state funding and it’s a mandatory program. We have parent educator visits at our house every three months, but they also have lots of free one-time classes and fairly inexpensive multi-week classes.
13. Cooler weather? It’s been in the 90s here and I have been avoiding outside. Yuck.
Thursday 13- Favorite Smells
Filed Under Thursday Thirteen | 4 Comments
Tonight I wrote a thank you note to a friend for my birthday present- an awesome pumpkin candle holder and candle scented tea lights- and I started thinking about all the smellies that i love. So random.
1. pumpkin, obviously
2. roses- not like old lady rose perfume, like fresh roses that Jonathon brings me
3. Downy fabric softener
4. the storage room in the basement at my grandparents old house
5. cinnamon bun, hot chocolate, or any of my other Bath and Body Works lotions
6. Baby Magic lotion
7. Bailey’s baby breath (I think only a mom could understand this one!)
8. my husband’s deoderant
9. Ralph Lauren Blue perfume, which is what my mom wears
10. Estee Lauder Beautiful Sheer and Estee Lauder Pleasures, my two favorite perfumes
11. anything new from the store, if it’s been in a package- yeah this is a weird one too, but my parents got some new Samsonite Luggage and it smells so NEW
12. Sweet Pea, Plumeria, Sun Ripened Raspberry, Cherry Blossom (Bath and Body Works)
13. Rubber Cement
Thursday Thirteen- Four Months Old
Filed Under Four Months, Thursday Thirteen | 3 Comments
Happy four month birthday, little sweetie! The time is flying by! Here are thirteen things you can do already:
1. Grab toys or your clothes and pull them into your mouth
2. Smile
3. Talk- all the time- and you make consonant sounds like ba ba or mmm sometimes
4. Clasp your hands together in front of you, especially while eating
5. Roll from your stomach to back
6. Roll from your back to your side
7. Kick your feet enough that it moves you all the way to the end of your crib
8. Laugh out loud
9. Recognize people, like Mommy, Daddy, Grammy, and Grampa, and also look toward the direction of their voices
10. Screech and squeal
11. Fall asleep on your own when we put you in bed awake
12. Track objects in all directions in front of you/above or below your face
13. You make your mommy so happy, and that’s the greatest thing you can do!

Thursday 13- Time for Some Sappiness

Thirteen things I love about my baby
1. She is so soft and smells so good (well, unless she has just pooped or spit up, I guess)
2. Her smile, which I get to see more and more each day
3. The way she calms down immediately when I hold her
4. Her fuzzy hair- which is already getting longer.
5. The cute clothes I get to dress her in, and the patience she has for me while I play dress-up with her each morning
6. She is such a good sleeper!
7. Every day she is more interested in the world around her.
8. She is beginning to grab things that are close enough- not yet reaching but she will often grab her dresses and put the hem in her mouth, or grab my arm or my shirt if it is near her while she is eating.
8. I have just discovered that she prefers to take a bath in the big tub with me so she can be held and play a little bit, so it’s fun and relaxing for both of us.
9. The dimples on her knuckles and elbows
10. Her happy and easy-going personality even when she’s sick
11. Her beautiful blue eyes, and the eyelashes that seem to get longer every day. I hope her eyes stay blue like her daddy’s.
12. She is not a picky eater- bottle, breast, various kinds of formula, boobie milk, vitamins in the bottle…
13. I love that she is a girl- I have always dreamed of having my little girl and now she is here!
