Shawn Johnson

I love this girl. She is so amazingly talented and the thing is, she also looks like just a kid having fun. I was cheering for her so hard tonight during the balance beam competition. I am so glad she beat Nastia. Their styles are just so different but after Nastia went after her on floor and snatched the gold out from under her, I didn’t want the same thing to happen on beam. And it didn’t.
Well I have a cute photo of Shawn but Wordpress is being a pain and not wanting to load any photos. Click here to see a few. Maybe I’ll get it to work later. It would also be nice if I could load a few new pics of my little girl, but apparently that’s not going to happen tonight.
I am still loving the Olympics and that’s also one of the many reasons I haven’t been blogging as much this week. IT’s cutting into my evening computer time.
Olympic Spirit

I have to admit, I am finally getting caught up in the Olympics. I was busy the night of the opening ceremony and missed most of it, and for a while I just wasn’t all that into it. I caught a little of the qualifying swimming stuff, and a little early gymnastics… but this weekend I have been glued to the tv (well and also stuck with my inlaws here) but I have watched swimming, diving, vault, floor gymnastics, rowing, track, and on and on. I love it. I love the Patriotic feel it gives me, I love seeing all the countries there together. However there are certain countries that I think should not be there- I know the Olympics is not political, but I think terrorism and communism and human rights go beyond just politics… but that is not for me to decide and overall I have enjoyed watching.
I have cheered for people who won, felt so so sorry for the American diver girls who screwed up really bad, been frustrated when other countries beat us. There are too many commercials and interviews but in between all that, it’s so worth it.
Speaking of Cardinals

There is a special Major League Baseball brochure out right now from Avon. I don’t think the stuff is actually listed on my website but here are a few of the most popular items. I have sold several of each of these, and the customers have been really happy with them.
Cardinals Watch- I guess it could be for either gender but in person the red part is shiny and looks more feminine. There is also an all silver colored men’s watch. They are also available in Yankees, Cubs, Mets, and Red Sox.

I sold quite a few of these towels. I wish we were planning on some serious beach or pool time this summer
They are 60″x30″ and 100% cotton, available in Cardinals, Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, White Sox, and Dodgers.

I also sold a couple of these hooded towels to customers with kids and grandkids. They are 24″x23″ and slip over head with a closed back. They are $15.99 and are also available in Dodgers, Yankees, Mets and Red Sox.

There are also a few other baseball items available. There are mugs ($14.99), red/blue/silver MLB binoculars ($12.99 and they also come with a sheet of 32 stickers, one for each team, a carrying case, neck strap, and cleaning cloth), and charm necklaces ($9.99, silver colored 17″ chain with silver Cardinals charm and red Cardinals hat charm).
Any questions, email me at tara (at) twolinesonastick (dot) com or leave a comment ![]()

Doesn’t she just rock this Cardinals cheerleader outfit? It makes tonight’s loss not quite so bad… right?
Dahlings, I know I am just too beautiful. You mustn’t bother me.

World Series, Here We Come!

Way to go Cardinals! Last night’s game was very stressful for me. All the way up until the last pitch… wow, if I was stressed I can’t even imagine what Wainwright was going through.
Anyway, I am just glad we made it this far, since the odds were against us and all. What a great team!
This was fun to watch, but I also kind of enjoyed watching the sad faces of the Mets fans. And here are the stars of the game…
My dad gets to go to the game on Wednesday night. Darn season ticket holders. Hopefully the weather holds up and he has a good game. The last one he went to was the 12-5 loss to the Mets.
Go Cardinals!

Awesome game last night. My dad was lucky enough to go there. I laid in bed and watch it on tv. Not quite as cool. But, nevertheless, it was a good game.
Cardinals beat the Padres 6-2. There were more than a few moments where I held my breath. Jonathon slept through the last two innings. He was so tired from doing yardwork. Poor guy.
Okay, I was going to include some pictures, but Blogger is having issues with the photos right now. Maybe later.
