Hanging out in our pj’s

Filed Under Books, Clothes, Eight Months, Nine Months | 2 Comments

Snuggle Puppy is one of her favorite books. Of course, it is even better when read upside down.

I love these white pajamas on her. Of course, you have to pretend her face isn’t covered in drool and snot. Hopefully we will have less drooly and snotty pictures now that she is on an antibiotic!

I love this girl. Look at these faces. Look how snuggly she is in her jammies. She just makes my heart melt.

Riding around in a box that Daddy was pulling- these pictures are actually from a few weeks ago. At first she wasn’t too sure about it but she ended up having fun. When I was little, my parents used to pull me around in a diaper box with a string tied on it, so we decided to try it out with Bailey… only we don’t have diaper boxes because we use cloth diapers.

Some old snow pics of Bailey

Filed Under Eight Months, Firsts | 3 Comments

Just realized that we took these pictures last time it snowed and I never posted them. Jonathon brought a snowball inside for B to play with. She thought it was okay to touch but then he got the bright idea to put it on her leg and she flipped out.

Also I posted some pictures of our yard from today on my other blog. And along the same lines (um not really) if you need a Phase 1 report done, you should check out DGC Associates.

Belated Christmas Pics

Filed Under Eight Months, Family, Gifts, Grandparents, Holidays | 2 Comments

Here are our pictures from Christmas in Oklahoma City with Jonathon’s parents. They are pretty blurry because they were taken with our video camera (so no flash) because we (I) forgot the memory card for our digital camera. I tend to do that. So here are the memories from the horrible week. Apparently we ONLY took pictures on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I guess we didn’t even want to remember anything else. LOL

Taking a bath in Grandma’s sink on Christmas Eve. Let me tell you we had to seriously scrub that sink before putting her in it. Their kitchen makes me want to vomit.

Checking out what Santa brought- Christmas morning- this was her first gift (from Mom and Dad obviously).

Yay, Mommy!

Opening our presents on Christmas Day

Stopping to check out the Christmas tree :)

Opening more Christmas presents

We spent Christmas afternoon/evening with Jonathon’s cousins and aunts and uncles. They are all much more normal than his parents. In fact his parents are really the only weirdos in the family. I don’t quite understand. Anyway here is Bailey’s cousin Grace and great uncle Marvin.

Bailey with cousin Isaac, who was one in November.

Puke Watch

Filed Under Eight Months, Sick | 3 Comments

So it had been since Saturday night that Bailey last threw up. Then today at lunch she tried some vegetables, chugged some water and threw it all right back up.

Back to the diet of breast milk, soy formula, and oatmeal with applesauce or bananas.

She is currently in her crib throwing a fit because she doesn’t want to nap. She’s not even crying, she’s standing there screaming. My nerves need a break.

I have started writing her nine month post for tomorrow but I think I need to wait so that I can have lots of nice (and not frustrated) things to say about her.

I am looking forward to watching American Idol tonight. To see my boyfriend Simon :) Also tonight I am turning in my Avon order and so far things are going well.

All Better!

Filed Under Eight Months, Sick | 8 Comments

She still looks pretty serious in these pictures, but she is feeling a lot better (we think!) and it’s been over 24 hours now since the last puke! Her shirt says “Grandpa’s TV Buddy” and we got it for her to wear to my parents house :) She looks so grown up. Hard to believe she will be nine months in just a few days!

It’s not over till it’s over

Tonight I am sitting awake on Puke Watch. We went out for a bit tonight and left Bailey with my parents. She seemed to be doing fine although she didn’t eat or drink a whole lot and went to bed early. When we got there around 11, we got her out of the Pack N Play and she proceeded to throw up all over me about five minutes later. So we waited there for a while to make sure it wasn’t going to happen again. Dumb mommy didn’t pack an extra outfit so she rode home in one of Grampa’s t-shirts. She looked like a cute little friendly ghost. On the way home she had a massive poop explosion.

Once we got home she nursed and seemed fine. She went right to sleep a little over two hours ago but of course I am up checking on her repeatedly. Jonathon put a small tv in her room and I watched some shows with the volume down really low (thank God for subtitle service) and then I took a break to put in some Avon orders and check email. And of course blog.

Please pray that my girl is back to normal and is all done puking. It’s really not fun and it makes me so sad and worried.

It’s really not so bad

Filed Under Complaining, Eight Months, Friends, Sick | 2 Comments

This post was going to start as a huge whine about how my life sucks right now. Then I remembered my little Muffie sleeping in the next room, and my cute hubby downstairs in his office, and I realized that it’s not so bad after all. People can let you down, kids can get sick, but life goes on. And with these two here beside me, that’s really all that matters.

I will briefly explain the whine, though. Bailey threw up last night for about six hours. We have no idea what caused it. It’s really, really sad and scary and gross when a baby that age throws up. It just happens suddenly and of course they have no idea what is going on or that it should have happened over the toilet. Poor baby, her eyes just got so big and then she cried. The night ended with sheets all over her bedroom floor and covering her rocking chair, and me sleeping on the floor next to her bed. That was after she threw up in her bed and didn’t wake up. She just stayed asleep with her face in it :( And it scared me.

Then today I had lunch plans and my friend had to cancel beyond last minute. I was waiting by my front door with my hair done and makeup on, and she called. So I spent a chunk of the afternoon whining about that. Sometimes I just feel like nothing goes my way.

Anyway, I know what they say about not waking a sleeping baby but I am going to go get Bailey out of bed and hug her and snuggle with her. She has been napping for three hours now.

Finally, a tooth picture

Filed Under Eight Months, Teething | 9 Comments

My friend Sarah was over today and she’s a great photographer. She got a nice shot where you can actually see Bailey’s tooth. For some reason, Bailey is crazy about not letting us see or touch her tooth. She also has a second tooth that is about to break through. I can see it under her gums (I thought at first that it was through, But I can’t feel anything). Anyway, here is her first tooth picture.

She took a lot more pictures of Bailey, so I am just going to share some of them. I need to have her come do our family picture one of these days at our house. If she still wants to, that is. :)

These last few were taken when Sarah and Andrew first got here. Bailey had just gotten up from her morning nap and I was in the process of changing her out of her pajamas.

The babies seemed to enjoy playing with/near each other more today than they have in the past. Sarah and I agreed to try to do weekly playdates with each other. If anyone else is interested, let me know!

Wordless Wednesday- Changing channels

I swear I didn’t set her up for this. I left the room for a minute and when I came back, this is how I found her!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this yet

Bailey started waving the other day! I think the day she DEFINITELY waved was on December 31st. It started out as a Hitler type salute but now is obviously a wave and her arm is less stiff now :) I tried to take some pictures but they don’t do it justice!

And these pictures are from the first time Bailey wore overalls. She got these for Christmas. They are 12 months but they are already tight on her… which is weird because they are Carter’s and she usually wears 6-9 in that brand. I was bummed because they’re really cute!

Wordless Wednesday- Tipping Over the Bouncy Seat

Filed Under Baby Gear, Eight Months, Wordless Wednesday | 1 Comment

Bailey does this at least three times a day. For some reason the bouncy seat can ONLY be upside down now.

And it almost always ends like this:

A lot about nothing… Happy 2008!

Filed Under Eight Months, Friends, Home Sweet Home, Money | 4 Comments

I don’t feel like posting, but I feel like I owe it to 2008 to make a quick little post. I was feeling really down about New Year’s Eve going into it. Some of my girlfriends were going out together for what sounded like a fun evening. We are pretty broke at the moment, and my mom kind of jacked us around on the babysitting thing, so we weren’t able to make big plans.

My friend Sarah invited us to come over and bring Bailey with us. It turned out to be a really nice night of just snacking and hanging out together. It was very low key and Bailey got to play and then sleep in the pack n play in the other room. She did pretty well going to sleep. We watched Finding Neverland, which I hadn’t seen before.

By the way, Sarah, my friend Faith said it was definitely Tuberculosis.

Today I got to see Faith for a while, I worked on straightening up my office (trust me, I have a long way to go) and we went shopping for new carpet. We went three places and I think we finally decided to buy from GCO but it was getting close to dinnertime and Bailey was about done with looking at carpet. We will probably go back tomorrow to do the paperwork. Tomorrow we are also thinking about taking B to Gymboree Play and Music to try it out. Jonathon has off until Monday so I wanted to do something family-ish at least one day :)

Tonight has been spent listing on eBay. Not very exciting, but hopefully profitable. I am selling some of the cloth diapers that I don’t like, such as the Fuzzi Bunz which leak horribly out the legs on Bailey. (I have been trouble-shooting and we determined that it is really just that they don’t fit her right).

Wow, enough rambling. I’m heading off to read a little bit before bed.

Bailey’s First Christmas

Filed Under Eight Months, Family, Gifts, Grandparents, Holidays | 7 Comments

Here is a whole slew of pictures from Christmas today at my parents house. Bailey got a ton of stuff. Well, we all did! I got a really cool keychain that you can load up to 60 digital photos into and it has like a two inch screen to view them. Perfect for showing off new pictures of my Bug :) I also got a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure and some new OPI polish in dark colors! I had been wanting that. Bailey got a ride on lion. That and her Fridge Farm were probably her favorites.

My big gift to Jonathon was a new hard drive… how terribly exciting. But it was a good surprise for him because he had been bugging me for one and didn’t think he would get it because I said that was a boring Christmas present.

It was a very long day. I think everyone had a good time. My dad and grandpa got into a little tiff at the end of the day but overall, there wasn’t any major bickering or anything which is kind of rare with my family! Anyway, here are a bunch of the pictures in no particular order. I am tired and this is the best I can do.

Quick post

Filed Under Complaining, Eight Months, In-Laws, Travel | 8 Comments

I am dealing with dial-up and a crappy computer here, but I just wanted to post and say that we are still alive. I can’t WAIT to come home! Our visit has been okay- not as bad as in years past but I am sick of people pawing Bailey constantly and his mother never leaving me alone. She has been napping and going to bed just fine here in her pack n play, but she has been getting up a lot earlier (and we don’t want to let her fuss too long since there’s a house full of people) so we are very tired. I am just looking forward to being home and having “real” Christmas with my family on the 30th.

I will have to tell you all the comical and miserable details of this trip later. I will just leave you with a few kickers. First, MIL got Bailey a USED tube of diaper cream for while we were here. Second, they keep trying to drive off before her carseat is buckled. The other day we had to take her coat off to fit the straps, and FIL was like, she doesn’t need them, just hold her in. He was dead serious. Third, MIL walked in on me while I was peeing and just kept talking to me. Remember how last summer she walked in on me pumping? They have a serious knocking on doors before opening problem here.

In honor of her first snow, and other things

Filed Under Clothes, Eight Months, Pregnant Friends, Toys | 5 Comments

Bailey wore this dress to church on Sunday and then again later this week to our nursing group, in honor of her first snow. She hadn’t worn in yet, so I thought this was a great time to bust it out. The snowflakes on it are embroidered with silver thread and I just love it. You know how you just fall in love with some of their little outfits? This is one of them.

My pregnant friend Sarah- she is right at 15 or 16 weeks in this picture. Just starting to get that little baby bump and I think she looks beautiful! She is my BFF from high school (we were seriously inseparable for a while) so I was thrilled to find out she was pregnant. I know she is still a good friend and nothing will ever be like high school again (thank God, right?) but I hope we can become closer again.

Bailey in a Christmas shirt that I got for her last year at an after Christmas sale and almost forgot about! She is really more concerned with chewing on the chapstick I got from my friend Jen.

Playing with her toy pig that she got for Christmas from Alison (the little girl I watch sometimes on Fridays). It vibrates and shakes and plays music, and she thinks it’s pretty funn :)
