Sunshine Award
Filed Under Awards, Blogging | 2 Comments
I was given the “Sunshine Award” by Dawn at The Bent Bunch! She has two adorable kids, James and Natalie. Natalie is one tough little girl who just had another heart surgery and is doing amazing! Dawn manages to stay optimistic about life most of the time- and when she’s not being optimistic she’s still pretty darn funny! I enjoy reading her blog and I’m glad we’ve become “online friends.” Thanks!

So here are the rules of this cute award:
- Put the logo on your blog or within your post.
- Pass the award onto 12 bloggers.
- Link the nominees within your post.
- Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
- Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award.
Here is my list of blogs that make me smile
Baby Makes Three
Chasing Groundhogs
Happily Ever After
Life in the Soupbowl
Adventures in Adam Land
This Magic Life
Happiness Times Two
Okay so not exactly twelve but these are some that I look forward to reading when they have a new post in my feed reader. And now I have to run and get dinner started (just meatloaf and potatoes, nothing exciting, but the leftover meatloaf will freeze well for after baby and that’s my goal at this point!)
Live Chat on Blogs
Filed Under Blogging, Technology | 1 Comment
Has anyone done/hosted a live chat on their blog before? I am not so much interested in doing it just for my blog readers (because let’s face it, I know I’m not famous) but more as a way for a group of people to talk online. I have no idea how to go about setting it up or anything or if I am too technically challenged for that. I am also looking into doing conference calls that you can set up online.
It’s like the gym
Filed Under Blogging, Two Years Old | 4 Comments
Getting away from my blog for a while seems kind of like when you quit going to the gym. The longer you stay away, the harder it is to force yourself to go back. It’s not that I don’t like blogging- I do- I just don’t feel like bothering with it lately. I’m not giving up though!
Hello out there!

Why I haven’t posted lately
Filed Under Blogging | 1 Comment
So, I haven’t been able to post anything lately since our firewall system is blocking my ability to load pictures as a security risk. If this works, then I should be posting again very soon. (Jonathon typed this, that’s why it’s all techy-ish!)

OMG Blog Headache
Filed Under Blogging | 4 Comments
You may have noticed (or maybe not, lol) that my blog has been missing for two days. It totally crashed for some unknown (to me) reason. It is back up today, finally. However my last backup was done March 15th so I lost the most recent things. If anyone happened to save any of my posts or anything, feel free to send them to me. I don’t know why you would have, but at least i only lost a few! I will get that giveaway back up and going to but unfortunately all the comments were lost. What a pain in the patootie.
Second Child Syndrome
Filed Under Blogging, Second Pregnancy, Thoughts | 5 Comments
So recently, all these people I know are pregnant with their second (or third) child:
Kelli
Jenny
My friend Eileen (not a blogger)
Carrie
Amber
Tami (actually she just had her baby)
Beautifully Unique
Lauren
Kasey (it’s actually her first but since we are talking about all these pregnant people…)
That’s a lot of pregnant ladies. Am I jealous? Kind of. But not in a mean way. More like in an Oh my gosh, I think I want to be where they are now kind of way. Most of these people have kids right around Bailey’s age. A few of them, we started reading each others blogs during our pregnancies. They are ahead of me this time. I know it’s not a race. But I finally, finally feel like I want to catch up.
(NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT)

I know we all get it. I don’t know what to blog about and I’m not in the mood. So I’ll see you around once I get inspired again.
My Fabulous Blog Award
Filed Under Awards, Blogging | 4 Comments
My wonderful friend Jen gave me this blog award. I am glad she thinks my blog is fabulous. I think that she is! And there are also a few blogs that I think are fabulous. You should check them out if you are looking for new reading material!
1. Chasing Groundhogs- She got married, got a new job, and moved to Alaska within the last six months. How much more interesting could life be? She’s also one of my best friends in real life.
2. Mutha Mae- She’s super funny. Sometimes you wonder if she’s high on painkillers. Sometimes she is. (Okay, but that’s because she recently had major surgery!) She has three adorable girls and tells great stories about them.
3. Canape- She’s back! An amazing friend and a wonderful blogger who was recently on hiatus and just started blogging again. Stop by and give her a big welcome back to the blogosphere!
4. Three Times the Love- She’s a very talented writer AND a mom of three. Both of those are things I would like to be someday. One of the reasons I love her blog is that she has made me rethink several issues. She has some great insight and her posts are interesting and entertaining.
5. My Five Little Monkeys- A great person and a fabulous mother. She has triplets AND twins. She is funny and real and her kids are adorable. I probably need to take some patience lessons from her.
If you were nominated and you want to play, just pass on this award to five bloggers you think are fabulous!!
I am Kreativ
Filed Under Blogging, Memes | 1 Comment
It took me a while to post this- I am a slacker lately- but I got a blog award from Where the Road Takes Us! Thank you thank you!

The requirements for this award are to list six things that make me happy, then tag six more bloggers.
Six things that make me happy:
1. When Bailey feels the sudden need to snuggle with me and buries her face in my neck. Even if it’s just for a moment.
2. Diet Coke. It makes me so happy. Unless it is on the floor of my car. Then it makes me so angry. I’ll have to share that story with you sometime.
3. Sometimes after we eat dinner, Jonathon offers to do the dishes. Sometimes. And there are usually still pots on the stove afterwards. It’s the thought that counts, though, and that makes me happy.
4. Sleeping in late on a Saturday morning. Jonathon lets me do this about every other weekend since he is a morning person. And 9 or 9:30 really feels LATE now! Finally he will come in and put Bailey on the bed to wake me up, and I love that too.
5. Getting Avon orders from a lot of different states, especially because I want to beat this one particular girl at the contest. Because she thinks she has a big internet business. Okay, she really does sell a lot online- but I know I at least beat her with my first few states!! And they’re still coming in. Thanks guys.
6. Weight Watchers. Yes, I’m at it again. I would much rather lose weight “naturally” than by using weight loss pills. Wish me luck!
The final requirement for this award is to tag 6 more bloggers that are Kreativ.
I am being kind of un-kreativ and I am just going to tag anyone who wants to play! I know, so lame.
NaBloPoMo, My First Time
Filed Under Blogging | 1 Comment
I am actually committing to NaBloPoMo this year, for the first time. The point is to write a post every day for a month. I post almost every day anyway, so it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. It will just make me keep up with it for sure.
Sometimes I have a lot to say, and sometimes I feel like a “blah” blogger. Lots of times its just pictures of my kid. She’s cute, though. Other times I talk about random things like when I was in college, or my feelings about politics, or shopping for engagement rings or toys or whatever. So hopefully I have enough to write about to keep me going through the whole month and not be too boring!
I need a favor, please

My friend Mae needs some votes for her video clip. She is neck and neck with some other chick for first place. If she wins, she is donating all the money to a women’s and children’s shelter. That other lady? She’s probably going on a selfish shopping spree. So go vote for Mae! You have to register but I did, and I promise they do not spam you.
Here is the link:
http://www.mindbites.com/tags/the-baby-formula
And the person you vote for is the one with the title “Cleaning up toys” or something like that. She has brown hair and a big hot pink boa around her in the picture.
If this is any inspiration to you- comment and let me know that you voted, and I will link to your blog. I know that’s nothing huge, but who couldn’t use some linky love?
On another topic- I was curious if anyone has gone through Insurance Bureau for auto insurance. We got some info from them and I was wondering if anyone had an opinion. We have considered switching from State Farm, but right now we get a multiple line and multiple car discount, so it would have to be a whole lot cheaper!
Playing Catch-up
Filed Under Avon, Blogging, Complaining | 3 Comments
I am still trying to get caught up on things from while we were out of town. And how is that our house got really messy again in just five days? And WHY am I so tired all the time? I just sat down to write a nice lengthy blog post and to share some pictures but I think if I sit here for more than a minute I am going to fall asleep. I should also be looking at business resumes to find a sample for Jonathan to follow when he updates his. And I should be replying to about forty emails sitting in my in box… So instead I’m going to go drink a Diet Cherry Coke and get my Avon brochures ready. Which is NOT my favorite thing to do.

“I Love Your Blog” Award
Filed Under Blogging | 7 Comments
Thank you to Beth and to Dawn for this award. You both rock, and you are so sweet to think of me. I love your blogs, too. They are part of my daily reading.
Now, I get to share the love by distributing the award to others. But first the rules are:
1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate up to 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the people you’ve nominated
Here are the people I am nominating. I love their blogs.
1. Baby Makes Three- my friend Sarah’s blog about her life and her little miracle baby Claire. Never a shortage of cute baby pictures, and I can relate to her in-law stories.
2. Will There Be Cake? She recently “moved” blogs and this is her new one. She’s just getting started there, but I love her writing and it’s worth checking out!
3. My Charming Kids- I’m sure MckMama doesn’t even know I exist, but I am amazed by her. She has three kids under three and is pregnant with the fourth; a little boy. He has a heart condition, and she doesn’t know what the future holds for him. But she trusts God completely for the health and life of her son, and she is an inspiration.
4. Adventures in Adamland- Beth and I have been reading each other’s blogs for a while now. Her son, Adam is close in age to Bailey. It is so fun to watch them grow and to see how similar and also how different they are!
5. Chasing Groundhogs- Also a good friend of mine IRL. She is in the process of moving to Alaska with her new (married this spring) husband. Her writing is honest and sarcastic and fun to read. She might not update for a few days right now because she is, literally, traveling across Alaska as I type this.
6. “>The Laughlins- Kasey is the wife of one of Jonathon’s old roommates. She is a teacher and I like hearing about her job and I always love seeing pictures of her decorating ideas. They are TTCing and could use your thoughts and prayers.
Seriously, go check out these blogs. Good reading material. I always love finding new stuff to add to my reader. You know, because then I can spend even more time on the Internet…
Word Scramble
Filed Under Blogging, Thoughts | 1 Comment
Do you ever read the spam blocking word verification letters for blog commenting and make words out of them? I mean not intentionally but just as you read them? I do. I just commented on a friend’s blog and it was something like SXCREU and I thought to myself, “Screw. Heh.” Sometimes they make me laugh, like if it says something like SKWIDGIT or FUBLERU. Yes, that’s what goes on in my head.
