Happy Due Date to ME!
Filed Under Belly Pictures, Pregnancy, Week by Week | 3 Comments
Our baby is due today. What she is doing in there now is beyond me. Jonathon told me to enjoy my time with her now because once she comes out she’s going to want to be with her daddy all the time.
Here is my belly at 40 weeks. I honestly can’t believe we’ve made it this far! I decided to take this picture in the nursery- for the first time- in honor of Bailey coming out this week. She’s got two days left to enjoy her womb home, and then it’s eviction time
38 (almost 39!) Week Pictures
Filed Under Belly Pictures, Daddy, Pregnancy | 3 Comments
Taken yesterday before my doctors appointment- I know I keep saying maybe this will be “the last belly picture” but I am really hopeful this time!
And apparently I am freezing Jonathon out of the house. I didn’t have the typical hot body temp pregnancy thing at all until about a week or two ago. Now I can’t stand to have the thermostat set above about 64. It has gotten a lot colder outside in the last few days but I hate to have the heat running because it just makes me feel sick- but then I realized how bundled up Jonathon was and looked at the temp and it was like 56 in our house. Here is my poor patient husband.

Most recent picture- taken today at 37 weeks, 5 days
Wow… I thought I was going to take a “short” maybe one hour nap and just wasted the past three hours of a perfectly good afternoon! I guess that’s the point of not working, though- I can rest when I need to.
This morning my doctor had me come in to my appointment earlier because I called her with a concern about swelling. Until now it has just been my feet and hands, but this morning I noticed it was also in my legs and my face. Yuck. They checked my urine and blood pressure, and everything was normal. So it really is just horrible water retention. I don’t feel like my feet even look human. My toes look like they’re going to pop off. The doctor said I should be drinking as much water as possible and put my feet up when I can. Which I’ve already done. Other than that, she said the only thing that will help is having the baby.
Dr K did an internal exam this week and man, did it hurt a lot more than the one last week! I don’t know if it’s just because of her hand size or what, but it was pretty bad. She was apologizing while she did it because I think my face was showing everything. Plus, last time I was probably more calm and relaxed because Jonathon was in there holding my hand. This time I was alone and my mom was out in the waiting room. She drove me to my appointment after being concerned about the swelling.
The results: Now at 75% and 3 cm! Yay! Of course that doesn’t really mean anything for sure, but she said she hoped that next time she saw me would be in the hospital and not at her office
She also mentioned that I was “doing well” for a first baby and I’m ahead of where most women are at this point in the pregnancy. So was my mom when she was pregnant with me (her only baby) and she delivered two weeks early, with five hours from the first contraction until I came out! So maybe these will be my last belly pictures before she comes out… but I don’t want to get my hopes up too much!
36 Weeks, 5 Days- Pictures and Dr Appt

My belly, taken a few days ago by Jonathon.
Wow… I feel really round…
So today we had our “36 Week” appointment, although I am technically almost 37 weeks now, which my doctor considers full term. Nothing but good news today. First I did the routine pee-in-a-cup and blood pressure stuff. My blood pressure was 130/76 which is a little higher than normal for me, but I was pretty nervous today between the upcoming internal exam and also having a different doctor. He measured my uterus, which always means nothing to me, and checked the baby’s heartbeat which he said was just fine.
He also showed me where Bailey’s body parts are this time. He said she hasn’t “fully dropped” or whatever but that she’s on her way, and definitely head down. Her spine is on my left side and the pokey things over to my right are her feet. Her butt is the big hard thing above my belly button, which I kind of guessed. He said she will probably stay head down now but that the side she’s facing could definitely change.
Sidenote: Why am I saying “he?” My regular doctor is out of the office this week (I’m not really sure why because I think she’s in town, but both Dr. K and the other female doctor in the practice are gone for something right now. So I had to see the male Dr. K instead, who was a little older and a little quirky but very nice.
Anyway, the exciting news is that I am already dilated 2 cm and 65% effaced. Please don’t ask me what that means for sure, because I know it has something to do with thinning of the cervix, but if it’s already open a little bit I’m not sure how it can still be thinning. Anyway, it was good news. Jonathon also asked if my mucus plug had come out yet. For some reason he has been pretty interested in this. I guess he’s just a boy and he likes gross body stuff. The doctor said he didn’t really believe in a “plug” but more like it could come out a little at a time, but that if I had one to begin with it was definitely gone now.
In the doctor’s exact words, “Will you deliver this weekend? I doubt it, but I wouldn’t fall off my stool if it happened. Will you ever see your due date pregnant? No.” He said that his best “guess” would be maybe next week or even more likely the week after. Which means at 37 or 38 weeks, and I would be very, very happy.
I have been feeling okay for the most part. Just some cramping that feels like my period is going to start, but apparently that’s my cervix doing what it’s supposed to do, so I really can’t complain too much. Sometimes when I walk it feels like Bailey’s head is banging against my bladder or my pelvic bones or something. Last night I had the joy of waking up about every 30-40 minutes. I guess I’m getting ready to be up all the time with a newborn
Belly Button

I have decided my belly button is not going to come all the way out. It’s just going to stay halfway pudged out and droopy. Here’s a picture I took during one of my many insomnia nights. Probably around 3-4 a.m., because what other time would you EVER take a picture of your own belly button?

So I look a little rough in these pictures, to say the least! Lack of sleep, not styling my hair… I *know* I don’t look this bad all the time, but of course I finally remembered to have my picture taken on an ucky day. Anyway, here’s the bump at 33 weeks 1 day.
New Belly Pictures

Here are the most recent pictures- Jonathon took them one night this week, so at about 30.5 weeks. He was at kind of a weird angle so the belly view isn’t the best this time.

Here are my most recent pictures of my round belly! Jonathon took these last night at about 10:00 and in case you can’t tell by my eyes, I was absolutely exhausted.
Pictures from Week 26

I just realized I haven’t posted any pictures in a while. I think pictures always make blogs more entertaining, so I thought I would include some for my thousands of readers to enjoy. Ha. I mean for all six of you.
By the way- both of these events were on the same day and I literally left one and went to the other. Just so you aren’t thinking that I wear this shirt to everything! I do like this shirt, though.
At my friend Sarah’s baby shower- she is 36 weeks, I think, and I am 26. I have decided that my pregnancy look is basically just “round and lumpy.” I have been told it is obvious I am carry a girl because she is spread out all over me. Thanks guys.
I tried to get a cute picture of my belly at the wedding on Saturday night (of course pregnant lady wants the picture taken next to the cake)… for some reason it looks like I am resting my belly right on the table, but I’m really about five feet in front of it. Not so flattering, but had to get a 26 week belly picture in somehow.
And last but not least, my studly hubby with the groom- a friend of his from college.

Here are some recent pictures of the belly- taken on New Year’s Eve. I think this shirt makes me look thicker all the way around. Sometimes I see pictures of myself and think that I should take pictures and look at them BEFORE I go out instead of after. Then I would know how I really look. Or I am just being overly self-conscious about getting bigger.
At home before we went out- yes, our Christmas tree is STILL up.
A little blurry, but here’s one with my sweetie
We went to Jen and Aaron’s house to celebrate with a few other couples.

Last night we went to a little Christmas party, so I have some new pictures of the belly. Here is me at our house, getting ready to go and worrying about whether my shirt and pants fit.
This is with my friend Sarah, who is 34 weeks, and my friend Kim, who is 12 weeks. Had to get a pregnant girl photo together!

So I got brave and actually had Jonathon take pictures of my NAKED belly this time! I think because it is finally starting to look round and kind of fun, instead of just lumpy. So here it is! And just for the record, my belly button is still an innie and I don’t have any stretch marks yet!

Wow, I feel like I have really popped out over the last week. Wait- do I say that every week? Anyway, here are some pictures of me this weekend. New shirt, courtesy of my mother and Mimi Maternity.
And a front view, for the first time ever!

I took a picture of my belly last week at 19 weeks but it’s a really bad picture… so had to skip posting a belly picture last week
This picture was taken in Oklahoma, on Saturday I think, so right at 20 weeks. I have noticed that within just the last week, I suddenly look more pregnant and less like I am just thick around the middle. I think.
Belly Pictures- 17 Weeks

I just realized I haven’t posted any belly pictures lately. These were taken about a week ago with my mom and my grandma, so I was 17 weeks. Still no obviously “pregnant” belly–I think I just look a little thick around the middle. One of these days…
