First Ponytail
Filed Under Fashion, Firsts, Thirteen Months | 12 Comments
I was so excited to put a ponytail in Bailey’s hair for the first time today! Okay, so I tried like a month ago and it looked so ridiculous that I took it out right away. But her hair on the top of her head has been growing so fast, and so I did this before church and it stayed in all morning! Her “bangs” and top hair are getting long enough that it looks shaggy if I don’t at least pull it back with a clip- so I am excited to have another “style” for her besides the “pull over to one side and stick in a clip” look!
This was before church and she wanted nothing to do with sitting still for a picture (of course) so that’s why most of them are of her back or Jonathon trying to hang on to her.
Um so I am kind of a sucker for styling little girls hair. And also apparently taking way too many pictures afterwards

My mom used to do my hair like that and called it my “pineapple” because it stuck up like a pineapple’s…um…what’s that thing called? The pineapple top, whatever it’s called.
She’s cute.
i was able to do a little cloth “pebbles” on Emilie the first time sunday, but she pulled it out before church started even.
O!M!G! Adorable!
So cute!!!!! I love it!!!
Scout’s hair is great for styling….but the little stinker will NOT hold still. And even when I do manage to get the ponytail in, most of the time she yanks it right out and then tries to put the bow or ponytail holder in MY hair. She thinks it’s the funniest thing ever. Uuughhh. I’m sad, ’cause I’m like you and I was really looking forward to fixing ponytails, braids, and pigtails in my lil’ gal’s hair. I guess I’m just going to have to keep trying.
Oh, and she looks adorable sitting there “reading” that book.
I love the little pebbles look. Her hair is really growing.
Too cute! I love little poneys on top of the head. My neighbor just showed me how to tuck the poney under itself for a new look. Too cute.
That is just precious!
You won’t outgrow that the older she gets either. I still have to have my daughter’s hair perfect before she leaves the house. Although now as soon as we get home she takes it out, she’s 4 and full of opinions now.
Found your blog the other day and I have been reading it here and there. Some interesting stuff we have in common. I have a little girl born April 17, 2008 and live about 1 1/2 house south of STL.
So I just started putting my little ones hair in a ponytail the same way as Bailey’s a few weeks ago. She hates it and tries to cover her head and face as much as possible when she sees me coming near her with the comb. But, she leaves the hairbows alone when it is up.
So Ignore my mistake in the above comment. She was born April 17, 2007. I am really tired today.
Love the ponytail! She is getting too big! You need to tell her that she is not allowed to get any bigger. She has to stay your precious little baby forever.
