I have no idea why my pictures look so big in Google Reader. If you click to my actual blog, they should be normal size. Not sure what’s going on there.
Easter, long overdue
Filed Under Eleven Months, Family, Holidays | 5 Comments
I figured I should get around to posting all the pictures of Easter and writing about it before I post the new pictures from the wedding this weekend. So here it is…
We got Bailey’s Easter basket ready the night before, so that it would be there when she woke up… but then we decided not to give it to her before church when we were rushed. Also I was yelling at Jonathon at the moment, so it was better to wait. But here was her basket, before she dug into it:
Obviously she can’t do candy or little toys yet, but I knew the Puffs would be just as good. The animal crackers were something new, and the eggs were an idea that I got at Parents as Teachers. We I put different items in each egg to make
shakers, and then hot glued them shut.
Easter was a weird day, weather-wise. It was actually snowing, big fat snowflakes, off and on during the day. So Bailey did not get to wear her sandals that I had searched the entire world for
In fact the dress we had for her to wear, was sleeveless and seersucker, so she had to wear tights and a sweater with it. There was not a chance of going outside for an egg hunt, but we weren’t really planning on doing one anyway.
We got ready in the morning and went to church for Easter service. I tried to get a few pictures of Bailey in her dress, but she was not cooperating. My mom held her while I took some, but I still didn’t get any great ones. She does not seem to want to look at the camera anymore, and she tries to run away. She’s just too busy. I just liked this first picture because you can see her sparkly shoes.
Here she is in the nursery; another attempt at taking a good Easter picture.
After church, we went home and Bailey took a nap, while Jonathon and I finished getting things ready for the big meal over here. I got a ham at Honeybaked Ham and it was really good! Although I have to say that for $35 for a mini ham, I should not have had to pick a speck of fat off. Those things are overpriced for what you get, I think. When she woke up from nap, we let her open her basket before everyone arrived. I know they wanted to watch, but I figured it would just get too crazy and then she wouldn’t care about it. You can see what she grabbed for first…
I just love the look on her face here…
Here is Bailey with my parents. They gave her a sparkly Easter egg with money for a Grant’s Farm season pass in it. We love Grant’s Farm and can’t wait until it opens in April!
And doing what we do, sitting around and watching Bailey…
And just because this is one of the least icky pictures I’ve seen of myself lately, I thought I’d share ![]()

We are going to Nashville for a wedding so I won’t be blogging for a few days. Lots of pics when we get back!
Why Target Makes Me Mad
Filed Under Complaining, Shopping | 5 Comments
So they have good deals. And they’re not as junky as Dirty Mart. But their return policy? Sucks, sucks, sucks. Anyone who has ever tried to return anything there knows this. They allow two returns per year without a receipt. Yep, PER YEAR. Not two batches of items to return, two items. Unless they are marked “purchased” on your baby registry. We learned this trick. If you need to return things, go to the store and register for them first. Go home and mark them purchased (online) and then you are free to go return them. In fact, if I am stuck with something strange in the future that I have to return, I just might create a new wedding or baby registry.
Why is this coming up now, you ask? Because today when I was at Target, an especially chatty saleswoman told me their policy was about to change. I said something like, “So it’s going to get less crazy?” She said, “No, I think they are going to stop allowing ANY returns without receipts. There’s just too much fraud.” Die, Target. You greedy fools.
Wordless Wednesday- Fun In the Tub

Playing in the bathtub- it’s so much better now that she has a tub mat and doesn’t have to sit in her infant bathtub anymore!
Tuesday Toot- Hobbies
Filed Under Being a Mom | 1 Comment
Right now I am proud of myself that I have continued to enjoy some hobbies of mine. I have been making more of a point of having “me time” and reading. Books, magazines, whatever. I have also been working on my Avon sales, which have started taking off and doing better within the past two campaigns. It feels good to do something for myself. I haven’t been as active on my mommy board online lately, and I haven’t blogged as much or commented as much lately, but I have been doing things for myself. And that’s okay. I need a life outside of being a mom.

Can you hear this?
Filed Under Random | 6 Comments
It’s one of those high-pitched mosquito noises that supposedly only kids/teens can hear. I am slightly disturbed because I can hear it too. Just wondering if anyone else could.

Havin’ a Ball
Filed Under Cloth Diapering, Eleven Months, Play | Leave a Comment
Har har. Guess what this post is going to be about? Bailey and her new favorite toy- balls. She has been so into playing with her big green Winnie the Pooh ball. She continues to love the small plastic balls that go in her ball/track/toy thing. She especially likes to carry them around and bang them together. She has started understanding about “playing” ball. She likes me to roll the ball to her. Then she hands it back to me so that I can roll it to her again. I try to get her to let go and roll it back to me, but she won’t. Not sure when they’re supposed to start doing that.
Also you can see her new diaper stuff in these pictures. It’s the Bummi cover with a prefold under it.
I know this isn’t the greatest picture but I like that it shows her walking skillz!
She had to take a break and pull her socks off before she could continue playing…
Just wanted to post some pictures because I realized I have tons on my computer that I haven’t shared… and you know how that kills me… once B wakes up from her nap the family is coming over to celebrate Easter so I’ll post about it later if I have a minute! Happy Easter!
And then I got crazy and tried prefolds…
Filed Under Cloth Diapering | 1 Comment
I got kind of crazy this week. I decided our diaper stash was too small. I have found things I don’t like and sold them. For example, the Fuzzi Bunz just leaked way too much and could not get tight enough around Bailey’s legs. So those went. Some WAHM diapers I bought online were too thick (AIOs) or too crappy, so those went. I do not really want to do laundry every other day, so I wanted to expand our stash as cheaply as possible. It is currently almost all Bum Genius one-size pocket diapers, and at $17.95 apiece we really can’t afford to double the amount we own!
Enter prefolds. Yep, I did it. And the funny thing is, I like them. I never thought I would even try them, but I really enjoy using them. I only use them with the Bummi covers, so they don’t need pins or anything. I bought a “try it” package from Cottonbabies and I think next time I’m there I will pick up more premium size Chinese prefolds. I tried using a Snappi but that didn’t work so well. Either it takes lots of practice, or I am an idiot.
Here is some of our new stuff:
One thing is, Bailey’s butt looks bigger in them. And poop? Not so fun to clean out. But, they’re great for at home, and her tushie looks so cute in the flower cover. Also, Girl sent me some Babylegs that she made so now I can let her run around in a diaper and her leg warmers
I have had a lot of people ask me what/how many diapers I have, so here it is:
15 Bum Genius 2.0s and microfiber inserts
1 Bumkins AIO
8 prefolds
1 WAHM pocket diaper
2 Bummi Super Whisper Wrap covers
1 Snappi
6 cotton/fleece doublers
A few random fleece pieces to use with diaper cream
Me! Me! Me!

I’ve been tagged by Girl to give you all seven random facts about me. I have shared a lot here so I will try to think of some things you might not know.
The rules?
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
1. I can’t stand sleeping with my arms or legs exposed. If I don’t have blankets covering me, I have to have long pants and long sleeves on. I literally CANNOT take a nap or go to bed if I am not properly covered.
2. I won a spelling bee in second grade by spelling the word “metamorphosis” correctly. Then again in fourth grade by spelling “satellite.” However, I lost the 7th grade spelling bee on the word “resource” because I wasn’t paying attention. Yep, I like to read and spell.
3. I have lived in the same state (Missouri) my entire life.
4. I am not truly an only child. I have a loser half brother from my dad’s first marriage. We don’t talk to him anymore; in fact we don’t exactly know where he is right now. If people ask, I always say I’m an only child.
5. I can wiggle my ears without moving other parts of my face or using my hands.
6. I love back massages/getting my back scratched/having someone play with my hair more than just about anything in the world.
7. I have at least five email accounts that I can think of, all for different reasons. One personal, one junk, one shared with Jonathon, one for “work,” one for eBay… I only really ever check one or two of them, though.
I am tagging:
… and anyone else who wants to play!

Cute Flower Bowls
Filed Under Avon, Bailey's Birthday | 3 Comments
Check out my new bowl set from Avon. I got them to use at Bailey’s birthday party- which will definitely be a pink and green and purple butterfly party! It’s all separate pieces and they are all stackable and have lids. I thought they’d be really cute with snacks and dip. They were only $24.99, and they have a whole bunch of other stuff that matches, like placemats and glasses and stuff, but I have to remember not to spend everything I make!
I’m such a dork but I just don’t want to use them before her party!
Why am I sad?
Filed Under Difficult Stuff, Doctor Stuff, Weight | 9 Comments
I got my blood work results back from the doctor. Everything’s fine. No thyroid problems, no anemia, no blood sugar issues… so basically, I am fat and lazy for no reason. I almost wish there was a reason, so we could just fix it. Seriously, I am exhausted all the time. She said we can talk about the possibility of depression or anxiety, or a sleep disorder. Great. I can hardly wait until my appointment next month.
