Diapers

Filed Under Diapers/Potty, Input Needed | 6 Comments

Well, it’s official… Bailey’s little bottom is moving up to Size 1 today. She has two newborn diapers left to wear and then we are done with those. This is technically the first thing she has outgrown. My favorite newborn diapers were Pampers Swaddlers but they seemed to run the smallest. Then she wore Target ones for a while and then moved into the Huggies which seemed the biggest. (We have quite the variety thanks to our diaper shower and my mom).

I opened a pack of Pampers Size 1 and they look huge. Without opening ALL my diapers and going through them, does anyone know what seems to run the smallest in this size? And prevent leg-hole blowouts the best? We haven’t had many but that is the only spot that leaks on her- not the back or front of anything, just those legs. I noticed it more with Huggies I think they didn’t seal as tightly. Also, have you found a cheap generic diaper that works well? The Target ones seem decent but I’m willing to try others.

Last night I got a little delusional and looked at a cloth diaper website. Then I remembered I didn’t want to wash poo every day. Plus, those things are expensive!

We’re fans of the Target diapers at our house. We’ve tried them all b/c of the diaper shower, but have stuck w/ Target brand because of the price and quality. I ran into my first glitch w/ a Target diaper this weekend when about 5 out of my box had the tab tear off while on K. But I just called the 800 number on the package and then sent me a $3.50 coupon off my next purchase. But really… I think they are good quality diapers and it is hard to beat the price. I tried Walgreen’s brand on a pinch when we were out of town and did not like them. Not sure about Wal-Mart’s brand… :) Everybody’s different though — you’ll find what works for you!

We’re all about the Pampers over here..lol We tried, literally, I think every single kind out there with our son (from the cheap storebrands to the expensive stuff) and Pampers won. But, he’s ..well..a boy..and the pee settles differently. With our daughter, Pampers size 1 is what she’s wearing, and even though they seems to have alot of extra room in the crotch area..lol ..they’re excellent. No leaks at all so far. But, reading your post and the the first comment, we’re gonna try Target’s brand!!!! I know we love they’re wipes, so that rules.

We are all about White Cloud Walmart brand. $15 a case and work as well as any premium ones for us.

I’ve had leaks w/ Huggies too…In fact, DH was holding Scout tonight and got peed on…..and it was a Huggies dipe. We’ve been doing cloth during the day and sposies at night.

I do enjoy cloth diapering for the most part, but holy crap – our water bill was outrageous this month! It made me wonder if we’re really saving any money. DH said he thought it was just because my mom and grandma stayed here for a month and we also washed a trillion loads of baby clothes in Dreft. I dunno. If our water bill continues to be this high, we may not be able to afford cloth diapering! LOL

W settled on Costco diapers. They are exactly like huggies but cheaper, plus you can buy 200 or so at a time so you don’t have to shop every week.

You’ll get blowouts pretty much no matter what you use. The worst are when they are in the carseat and it has nowhere to go but UP and out. You’ll be ready to go shopping and discover poop all up the back of the carseat!

    Fun times those were…

Costco also has the best wipes!

Luvs! They’re cheaper than Pampers, which gave my kids diaper rash. Putting my kids in Huggies was a guaranteed blowout — I’m not sure what type of baby behind they’re meant to fit. :-)
