For the first 4-8 weeks I was like -- how long do I have to do this? :) Knowing that I wanted to breastfeed her at least for 6 months. Then after it wasn't so hard it became a very special time. I was sad when I weaned her at a year. But don't feel bad if you can get to that warm fuzzy place at 4:15 in the morning! :) I remember my mom saying something about special bonding and I was totally not feeling that way at all. :) I had a SLOW eater too. Sometimes it's hard to when you're tired and hormonal and feeling like a walking boob, but it really is worth it in the end. And isn't it great just having that special quiet time with just the two of you? I know that sucks for Jonathon, but come on, you carried her for nine months!
